Jeffrey A. Dean, MDBoard Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine
Jeffrey Dean, MD, Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills, earned his medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine. A West Point graduate, Dr. Dean trained at Brooke Army Medical Center and is proud to have served in the United States Army for 22 years. Since 2011 Dr. Dean has practiced orthopaedic surgery in San Antonio and provides the highest quality care with the goal of returning patients to their maximum level of function. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery with subspecialty certification in sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Treatment specialties include sports related and degenerative conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, and carpal tunnel, with over eighteen years of expertise in arthroscopic surgery. His 22 year career in the United States Army included training at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, as well as, multiple overseas assignments and deployments with his final assignment as the Chief of the Department of Surgery at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Publications include a collaborative article discussing his experience in humanitarian relief work in Pakistan in the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Dean enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, and cycling.
